“Glendalis is a photographic narrative that is as intimate as it is unflinching. Set among the blocks, vacant lots, and tenement buildings of the Lower East Side — before the onset of mass gentrification — the book centers on a family living in public housing on Stanton Street. Their story unfolds through the eyes of the youngest daughter, Glendalis. Having grown up within a similar family structure, Angela Cappetta immerses herself fully in Glendalis’s world: surrounded and embraced by a close-knit network of relatives and friends, a protective bubble within a broader landscape marked by crime, incarceration, and loss.”

Glendalis is her first monograph and was shortlisted for the 2025 Arles Prix du Livre. The project is also a recipient of the Photo Vogue Women by Women prize and will be exhibited during the PhotoVogue Festival in Milan.
