Shot and Written by Angela Cappetta Pictures of Patrick Adams (not in a Suit). Today, I had a blast because I spent time shooting portraits of one excellent dude. His name is Patrick Adams and he just finished a run on Broadway in a play called Take Me Out at the Hayes Theatre.The play =uses baseball as a metaphor for real, modern issues. It's over now so you won't be able to see it, but if it ever comes back it is not to be missed as it is very satisfying theatre. So, back to Patrick. This guy is seriously talented. Since I saw the play, I know this to be true. In Take Me Out, Patrick has two rolls, one of narrator and one of player. Furthermore, it is obvious he has more lines on stage than any other actor in the show. It seems like a massive amount of work. When I asked him about it he said that's how some roles are. As we all know, theatre is a labor of love.

Pictures of Patrick Adams: Patrick popped over in dad mode, that's how he rolls.

He rode his bike over, so he was in street clothes. However, in spite of the fact that he's a dad, a chill dude as well as uniquely talented, when I put my lens on him, Patrick did some next level improvisation with his outfit. Truly, I have seen actors do interesting things with their outfits before. Yet, Patrick created shapes and silhouettes using only his t-shirt just for the camera. I loved i! He tucked his arms inside the shirt at one point and wiggled them around, and I could easily see him playing a game like this with his daughters at home such as "find dad's arms" and so forth.

We shot a few dozen frames with strobe. After we were all done, he hopped back on his bike and headed to the theatre to warm up. He had just ordered food to be delivered there so he could, ya know, eat before the show. The obvious joke, here, is that he was in a show called Suits and he wasn't wearing a suit. But I won't lower the bar that far. No, not I. Never.
